Does anyone know what BOAT stand for

Break out another Thousand

Well Jason finally fixed Michael’s boat. We took it for a test run a few Saturdays ago and the temp was high but Jace knew how to fix that so we were feeling pretty good about the boat. As a family we decided that we would take all the kids (5) and adult (5) and go for a boat ride. We were not in swimming suits because we were going to Utah Lake and anyone who gets in that lake is courageous or crazy. Anyway we were just going for a quick ride so I left the diaper bag in the car and just took the kids and their life jackets. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Addi was just enjoying the ride and the girls were walking up and down the boat. The adults were trying to get some sun. Michael had an ecstatic grin as Jason stepped back and let him drive.

We were about to the middle of the lake and Michael was playing around making sure everything was running okay we the RPM’s shot up and the boat would go into gear but we were not moving. At this point I am looking around and noticed that we are the only boat in the middle of the lake. Everyone just sat there and stared and Jason tries to figure out what is wrong.

Because I was somewhat prepared I did have my cell phone. Jason calls his friend and his wife says he is on the lake so we are relieved because he can come save us. Jason calls his cell and he is off the lake and heading home. Jason asked his to come help us but he couldn’t get his big boat back on the lake by himself. Megan who was smart enough to bring her diaper bag realized all the snacks she brought are gone. Now this triggered the kids to ask more for snacks. A little bit of panic started to set in when we saw….

Another boat. So we all start waving our hands. This sweet boat pulls up to us and of course there are about 15 people in the boat surely not enough room for our bunch. They were all in bikinis and drinking having a good time. We must have looked pathetic because the offered to tow us to the nearest dock. How nice right well the nearest dock was not where our car was parked so we had to have Jason’s friend who was heading home meet us there and take Michael and Jason around the lake (½ hour one way) to get the cars and the trailer so we could go home. However realize we have 5 kids and no seats so we have to wait at the dock for at least an hour.

Again no diaper bag and no snacks. Did I mention it was lunch time? So after we waited we were able to finally get in our cars and head home. What was supposed to be a fun one hour boat ride turned into a 5 hour adventure?

Now the boat sits again in our driveway at least until Saturday.

I love BOATING!

What a crazy adventure. I would have been slightly frantic. I'm glad that you all survived!
